I’ve always heard that the best time to start something is tomorrow, right? Which I’m usually on board with as far as everything else in my life goes. However, I’ve [finally] decided to start my blog NOW.
I made this my New Year’s resolution last year, but that clearly never happened. So I’ve made a new resolution to go ahead and make it happen this time around! A lot of big things happened last year and I felt like it would have been nice to have some kind of documentation. I married my best friend, we bought a house, we got a new dog, I’ve worked on numerous DIY projects and now, it all seems like one giant blur.
We are one day away from hitting a brand new year, and I hate feeling rushed in moments that are meant to be savored and enjoyed. I have no idea where 2014 went, and I hope this isn’t what my grandparents have always referred to when they talk about years passing by, children growing up and not having a clue where life went! I want to create something that I can look back on and say “oh, I remember this day like it was yesterday!” when I’m telling stories to my children.
This blog is my attempt at a) something new b) accountability c) stress relief d) reflection. Reflection is good for the soul and it always puts me in a state of thankfulness instead of focusing on negatives.
I don’t want my first post to be super long, but I thought I’d recap a few highlights from the past year as I think about some new resolutions for 2015 (which I’ll eventually get to in another post). Sidenote: my “year in review” was (mostly) about the wedding. Enjoy!
Looking forward to many more posts in 2015.
