New Years Resolutions

Okay….New Years resolutions here we go!

I make a lot of these every year, but this year I’ve decided to hone in on a few really important things and actually try to accomplish them.

Sidenote: Ladies, it’s always good to set goals for yourself, even if you break them and need to start over. It’s healthy to reach your goals and be proud of yourself when you do! We {women} should always keep a good group of girlfriends, family members, or whoever to hold us accountable. I live for feedback from my family and a few super close friends because they never lie when I ask them for the truth. I need that, and I’m sure you do too, so go find your person and tell them what your resolutions are and ask them to call you out.

These are in no particular order…

Blogging!
So far so good on this one. Hold. Me. Accountable. It’s time consuming, but so far it’s been really cathartic and relaxing even though I’m only on my second post.

Budgeting.
This is just something I don’t do well. Never have. Love to shop, love to eat out (just ask my husband – the cooking skills and the time just aren’t there). Being a newlywed and mixing up the bill routine and taking on double payments and re-arranging credit card due dates to match both salaries is just a lot of work. In the words of Sweet Brown, ain’t nobody got time for that.

It’s difficult, but getting together a plan to balance a household budget for both my husband and I, both of our student loans and everything else is on my priority list —  and in the best interest of de-stressing my man!

Gym. Get fit. Lose weight.
In not so many words, I need to sweat more, and sit less. Isn’t this on everyone’s list? I just got a fitbit for Christmas and I’m ready to go (If you have one add me)! If I could set a target, it would preferably be up to or around 20 lbs(ish). My family and I have all started a strict 2-week diet to jumpstart our real diets, which I’ll be documenting next week! leggoo.

Find a bible study.
I have so missed worship and fellowship nights with good girlfriends! We serve a BIG God who loves us and died for us, and wants to transform our lives if we’re open to letting Him. I know this. I grew up knowing this. Shame on me for becoming complacent and too content with my current life. I would love to find somewhere to get plugged into once a week. If you’re reading this and you have any suggestions, let me know.  Also, if you want to start something in a group with me and/or my husband, please message me!

Stay on social media less.
As much as I love stalking all of you people, I see a lot of drama and spend a lot of time looking at nothing when I could be more productive. I keep up with engagements, weddings, kids, dogs, nights at the club that I can no longer stay awake for, news, inappropriate videos, and so much more.

Although I, myself also partook in the excitement of posting my whole engagement and wedding on facebook (and there’s nothing wrong with doing that) I feel like I have an opportunity to take that time and channel it toward my husband, our families, work, and these resolutions! I intend to keep this blog up, but I don’t plan to be on Facebook and Instagram all night while I watch tv and unwind. If I want to see what my friends are into, Im going to start actually calling them to hear about their lives. So friends, get excited to hear my voice!

Live loud. Love hard. Speak truth.
A lot of great things have happened in 2014, but I can’t help but wish I would have stopped to enjoy more special moments. 2015 is here! I am super excited and already blessed for everything the Lord has in store. Ready to embrace this year, restore the joy, share love and focus on new goals.

Make some resolutions that will help you change yourself for the better and change those around you for better.

Philippians 3:13-1~Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal forthe prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
