First, I’d like to say, please watch my video (especially if you’ve been reading this blog) where I thank you all for your super sweet comments of encouragement! It’s only been 3 weeks (3 posts), but I have had a few folks who I don’t get a chance to talk to often tell me that they’ve enjoyed hearing about life and seeing some video of us. We have the sweetest friends and family. Especially considering I am no videographer….and hear this right….will NEVER be one. Nor do I want to be one!
Anyway, here’s what we’ve been up to.
Hiking with good company, hanging out with family (yep, dogs included), pulling weeds around the house, landscaping, taking walks, and praising Jesus as the sun rose on Sunday to celebrate Easter and its true meaning (see photo below). I’m obsessed with fog in the early mornings…if you don’t already know this from Instagram!
I went hiking with one of my BEST FRIENDS last week. Bear’s Den (Loudoun County). It was a nice, short hike. Took us maybe an hour? We hiked a little longer on the trail and decided to keep going instead of stopping at the lookout point. I had no water. I am an idiot. Let me repeat that….I am an idiot. You’re reading this from someone who drinks – on average – 1-2 coke zeros/day with little to no water intake. I felt so dehydrated, and am now currently trying to quit this habit.
Of all the hikes I’ve been on, which is like, maybe 5 now? I would rate this one a 4 out of 10. It was a nice, easy trail with a lot of people and pets on the way to the top! The dogs I became friends with probably bumps it up from a 4 to an 8. Go on, ask me the best part! Dogs. SO. MANY. DOGS. I’m actually going to call it dog’s den instead.
I’ve recently decided to put my videos on Youtube. This is mainly for two reasons. 1) So that all my videos live in one place, and 2) So that I can delete them off my phone to free up space. My phone is super slow and I just can’t take it anymore. I don’t think there is any possible way that I could pay for more storage than I already do with 3 emails (and calendars), photos, videos, apps, and text messages that need to be saved forever.
I need help. Is there a disorder where you’re afraid to delete anything off of your phone? I mean….I might need one (or all) of my apps and photos at some point over the next 5 years, and you just never know when, right?
On to the house renovation update:
Sam and I FINALLY have an official porch, and the fence is up now! We’re trying to decide whether or not to stain the porch white to match the fence, or if we should just stain it with a nice oak coloring. I can’t decide. We’re letting the boards “weather” for a bit while we decide since they were pre-treated. Getting some of these landscaping and summer projects done is starting to give me anxiety, and it’s not even summer yet.
I’m very much a planner. Sam is very much a free-bird who goes with the flow. We’re finally in a groove with getting house projects done, and I am loving it! I’ll continue to provide updates on the house as we go along to include photos.
I’m also thinking of doing a recipe exchange if anyone is interested! I need some new meal ideas. Thoughts?
What good is a post without some fun photos of family and dogs? Enjoy!
Also, if you haven’t already, follow me on Insta, which is where I post daily!
