I’m so excited to write this post!!
I’ve always been the main one behind the camera in our family. It’s obviously a complex where I’m afraid I’m going to miss out on something so I end up with tons of photos and no place to store them all. I love giving photo gifts, and I’ve always been fairly confident in my ability to document events and make sure we have countless memories after every holiday.
Sidenote: Does anyone else hate that society doesn’t print photos to keep in photo albums anymore? I should start a movement called #photoalbumsmatter. Who’s with me!?
I bought a Canon Rebel T6i (starter camera) earlier this year because I wanted to challenge myself. Playing around with my camera for a good couple of months now, I felt that I was ready to shoot someone other than my dogs. Luckily, my co-worker and I were in VA beach this week for work and had the perfect opportunity to play around with the camera. I think it went well! It’s scary putting yourself out there not knowing if you’ll be any good or not. At this point I don’t care. I’ve never taken photos for approval from anyone else, I take them because I enjoy remembering people and places.
Halley – thank you for being my first model ever (after Stella of course). Thank you for letting me explore camera settings while you continued to pose yourself in front of people staring at you, and most of all thank you for being not just a co-worker, but a friend. You’re a gem in my book!
